Funiculaire in Paris

This is the little trolly that takes you up the hill to visit the Sacre Coeur Cathedral in Paris. It was "out of service" the day we visited, so I photographed it instead of riding on it.
You gotta love the lines!

Pidgeon in Luxumbourg Gardens

This shot was taken in Luxumbourg Gardens in Paris, France. What I liked about it is the color of the flowers in the background as will as the irridescent color of the neck feathers.

Floor Pattern in Versailles

Just a cool geometric pattern of a floor in one of the many beautiful buildings in Versailles, France.

Mannequins in Paris Window

I loved the bright colors of this window display in Paris.

Paris Street

Just a fun shot of a narrow busy street in Paris. Unusual signs, small cars, lots of people and taken from the upper deck of an open bus.

Railroad Yard in Marseille, France

There were over 30 tracks in this railroad yard in Marseille. What's interesting about this photo is the vantage point from which it was taken. We were on the top side of an open "double-decker" bus on a freeway overpass going 50 MPH when I took this picture. The ride was quite an adventure--I like the picture too.

Lines and light.

Tile Roof and Laundry

Another shot of a tile roof in Eze, France. This time with colorful laundry hanging outside. Each tile seemed to be totally unique in color and size.

Peacock

There is this beautiful little grouping of cottages on the grounds of the palace in Versailles, France. This peacock was wandering around in the yard of one of the cottages. This is the only photo I took of him. I wanted a close-up of his face. He accommodated me by staring right at me!

Notre Dame-Paris

This shot inside the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris gives a feel for how tall the ceiling is. The stained glass windows are exquisite.

Window and Laundry in Marseilles

I love images of windows. Here's one taken from the top of an open bus in Marseilles, France.

Paris View from the Eiffel Tower

This beautiful view from the Eiffel Tower was taken at that "magic" lighting moment at twilight. Again, I had no tripod so I just braced the camera on the hand rail.

Gelato at Le Castellet

At the hilltop village of Le Castellet, France there was this shop with all things "violet." They even had violet flavored and colored gelato. Here is a closeup of my melting cone with a blurred background. I can almost taste it. It was very good, actually.

Spices for Sale

At the bottom of a little street in Eze, France was a street vendor with a little table set up selling spices by the gram. I have no idea what they were, but really liked the colors and textures. Something I don't see every day here in the USA.

Tile Roof in Eze

This tile roof looks like it has been there for a while. Actually everything in this little hilltop village in the south of France has been there for a while. That's whats so charming about it.

Window in Paris

Another beautiful window--this time in Paris.

The Seine at Twilight

I don't know how you can be in a more beautiful and romantic setting than on The Seine in Paris at twilight. The city, reflections, and bridges are spectacular. Getting a decent image on a moving boat in low light hand-holding the camera is difficult, however. This one is not bad.

Window in Eze

This window and shutters was in the tiny hilltop medieval village of Eze, France just outside of Monaco. Everywhere I turned was a picture to be taken.

The Mediterranian Coast in Villefranche, France

Another "postcard" shot. This one was taken through the tinted window of a moving bus!
